Qualitative Research Report and Data Tear Sheet
Research IP says
“The essential infrastructure universe is smaller than the ‘core infrastructure’ universe. The Manager’s universe includes airports, mobile phone towers, water utilities, toll roads, regulated utilities, and regulated & contracted pipelines. Note the exclusion of rail (paid on volume), midstream (commodity sensitivity), and ports (paid on volume). An outcome of this across the portfolio is less market risk, less cyclicality, and a lower correlation to equities. Of note for New Zealand investors, none of the New Zealand utilities meet their definition of essential infrastructure.“
“Integration of ESG factors occurs multiple times through the investment process, with ‘impact’ and ‘engagement’ fundamental to the analysis.“
“The global infrastructure team of four has been stable since all of them joined Ausbil in 2018. Tim Humphreys leads the team, with Jonathan Reyes as Co-Head. Research IP highlights that Humphreys and Reyes worked together at AMP Capital for over 10 years together prior to Ausbil. Both have 14-15 years of experience focused on global listed infrastructure.”
