We bring you the RIPPL Roundup each month to provide an early market snapshot for New Zealand and Australian financial advisers.
Our Key Observations:
- 10-year government bonds were flat in the US, Australia, and Japan. All other markets saw a small fall, other than the UK, which fell by 0.30%.
- The US and New Zealand reduced central bank interest rates. All other markets remained flat for the month of October.
- Headline inflation has been rocky, with several markets increasing, notably in Australia, while Europe fell and the UK remained static.
- Core inflation remained relatively tight, apart from in Australia, which spiked by 0.30%.
- Term deposits remained relatively stable in Australia and New Zealand.
- Other than Property and Currency, all other indices were positive for the month of October.
