Methodology
The following criteria were used to choose technologies from a survey of 300 nominations from 29 countries:
- Power: The technology has the potential to drastically alter established behaviours and industries.
- Applicability: The technique could be widely used and help economies.
- Novelty: It is still in its infancy and has not yet gained widespread usage.
- Depth: The technology is being developed and invested in by multiple nations.
Technologies were chosen according to this criterion as well as their potential to significantly alter society in the ensuing three to five years.
Leading Emerging Technologies of 2024
The most promising new technologies for 2024 are displayed below:

| Genomics for transplants | Editing the genome for transplantations |
Overall, AI-related technologies were driving two of the top 10 technologies across the healthcare and data privacy industries.
